Bio pharmaceutical development company iGene announced on the 21st that it appointed Choi Seok-geun as the new CEO through an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and a board of directors meeting on the 20th.
New CEO Choi is recognized for his extensive experience in bio pharmaceutical research and business development, having served as the Chief Operating Officer of Medytox's factory and as CEO of U-BioLogics. Recently, he held the position of Vice President at Korea BMI, a pharmaceutical company and the largest shareholder of iGene.
An iGene official stated, "The new CEO Choi and the board plan to fundamentally improve the company's existing structure, which relied solely on research and development and licensing revenue models. We will thoroughly reassess the ongoing R&D projects at iGene to maximize efficiency and promote and expand new revenue businesses that can enhance the company's self-sustainability."
