Education Superintendent Ha Yoon-su to Host 'Superintendent Meetday!' on the 20th
Superintendent Ha Yoon-su, along with principals, teachers, parents, and students from general high schools, gathered in one place to find effective ways to improve academic achievement in general high schools.
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yoon-su) held the event “Day to Meet the Superintendent! - Opening the Future by Seeking Ways to Improve High School Academic Achievement!” on the afternoon of the 20th at the Communication and Empathy Room in the annex of the Office of Education. The event was attended by 10 general high school principals, 10 senior year head teachers, 10 parents, and 10 senior year students.
The event was held to gather opinions from the educational community to enhance academic achievement in general high schools. It was divided into two parts: “Sharing and Encouraging 2023 College Admission Achievements” and “Listening to Opinions to Explore Ways to Improve Academic Achievement in General High Schools for the 2024 Academic Year.”
In the first part, Superintendent Ha Yoon-su, principals, and senior year head teachers shared outstanding college admission cases by school for the 2023 academic year and freely exchanged opinions on curriculum operation plans that align with changes in the educational field.
Superintendent Ha expressed gratitude to school administrators and teachers who supported students’ capacity development and achieved excellent college admission results. He also asked for the widespread sharing of outstanding college admission cases that could help in policy formulation.
In the second part, senior year students and parents attended to share difficulties they actually experience in academics, college admission, and career paths, and to seek solutions to these challenges.
The students requested an expansion of customized consulting for college admission and career paths, while the parents asked for practical measures to support self-directed learning.
Superintendent Ha Yoon-su instructed the Office of Education officials to reflect the opinions proposed on this day as much as possible in future policy implementation.
One attending parent said, “Today’s meeting was meaningful because we could freely express our thoughts without being confined to a framework,” and added, “I am grateful to the Office of Education officials who work tirelessly in every way so that our children can enter the universities they desire and achieve their precious dreams.”
Superintendent Ha Yoon-su emphasized, “To establish and implement proper education policies, it is essential to build consensus among the educational community, including students, parents, and teachers,” and added, “Our Office of Education will continue to communicate ceaselessly with schools and local communities and provide unwavering support to improve students’ academic achievement.”
