Wearing Camouflage Clothes Near Migratory Birds... Ulsan City Operates 'Taehwagang Wetland Ecological Observation Center'

Wetland Roles and Wildlife Observation Interpretation

Birdwatching 'Gilly Suit' Also Provided

Who would get close to migratory birds disguised as nature?

Ulsan City, together with the Taehwagang Ecotourism Council (representative Go Young-jin), will operate the "Taehwagang Estuary River Wetland Ecology Observation Center" near Naehwanggyo Bridge in Bangu-dong, Jung-gu, from the 20th to March 20th.

At this observation center, visitors can observe winter migratory birds such as water rails, white-winged scoters, and little rails, as well as red-headed buntings, spotted flycatchers, and great tits moving among the reeds in the wetland.

The observation center operates year-round without holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, it does not operate on rainy days. Visitors can experience it by visiting the site without prior application.

Two natural environment interpreters are stationed to explain the formation and importance of river wetlands, observe plants, birds, and wildlife living there with visitors, and look for traces.

Additionally, four sets of camouflage suits (ghillie suits) are prepared to help visitors observe migratory birds visiting the wetlands up close, and visitors can wear the suits for commemorative birdwatching photos.

An official from Ulsan City said, "Estuary river wetlands are ecologically and environmentally important habitats for wildlife, and their value is gradually increasing," adding, "We will continue to raise awareness of the importance of river wetlands through the operation of the observation center."
