Held on the 24th at the District Office Multipurpose Auditorium
Participation from 7 Middle Schools and 1 High School
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) will hold the "Love Uniform Sharing Market" on the 24th at the multipurpose auditorium on the 2nd floor of the district office.
The market, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will sell uniforms from ▲7 local middle schools (Gyeonghui Middle School, Daekwang Middle School, Dongdaeboo Middle School, Sungin Middle School, Jeonil Middle School, Hwikyung Girls' Middle School, Hwikyung Middle School) and ▲1 high school (Gyeonghui High School).
Uniforms, donated by graduates and cleaned thoroughly, will be sold at affordable prices: jackets for 3,000 KRW and other items (pants, skirts, vests, shirts, etc.) for 2,000 KRW each.
The proceeds from sales will be donated to the Dongdaemun-gu scholarship fund and used as scholarships for academically outstanding students, students with special talents, low-income students, and students from large families in the area.
On the day of the event, entry will be allowed in order of waiting numbers on a first-come, first-served basis for safety, and the event may end early if the remaining uniform stock is sold out.
Mayor Ilpyeong Lee of Dongdaemun-gu said, "I hope that the good consumption at this uniform sharing market will not only be about purchasing uniforms at a low price but also become a valuable experience to realize the value of sharing, understand the virtuous cycle of carbon neutrality through resource recycling, and contribute to scholarship donations."
The "Dongdaemun-gu Love Uniform Sharing Market," which alleviates the burden of purchasing uniforms for families with middle and high school students, has been ongoing for over 10 years since 2013.
