Boseong Dahyang Festival to be Held May 3-7

Preparations for Boseong Dahyang Festival Events Progressing Smoothly

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it is accelerating preparations for the Boseong Dahyang Festival, which will be held for five days from May 3 to 7 at the Korean Tea Culture Park and surrounding areas.

Last year, the Boseong Dahyang Festival, which was successfully concluded with over 260,000 visitors, was designated as a ‘2024~2025 Cultural Tourism Festival’ by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and was also selected as one of the ‘Top 100 K-Culture Tourism Events.’

This year’s Boseong Dahyang Festival is hosted by the Boseong Dahyang Festival Promotion Committee (Boseong Tea Producers Association) and is held under the theme “The Temptation of a Thousand-Year Tea, Boseong’s Proposal” to preserve the rich culture and unique traditions of Boseong, the city of tea, and to promote their value both domestically and internationally.

Boseong-gun is preparing 71 diverse programs across 9 categories that visitors of all generations, including youth and families, can see, feel, enjoy, and experience to create a festival space that embraces everyone.

The representative contents of the Boseong Dahyang Festival include △ tea leaf picking and tea making, △ Boseong Tea Master Cup {Boseong Tea Beverage Development Competition}, △ Boseong Ae (愛) Muldeulda (茶) {Boseong Tea Unique Experience}, and △ green tea therapy.

This year’s festival will enhance and expand key programs befitting its status as a Korean cultural tourism festival, providing tourists with differentiated and rich experiences that can only be enjoyed in “Green Tea Capital Boseong.”

Additionally, to ensure that visitors can safely enjoy the festival, a systematic disaster response and safety management plan has been established from the planning stage to fully prepare for welcoming tourists.

Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “We are doing our best to prepare a Boseong Dahyang Festival that will leave unforgettable memories in the hearts of tourists,” adding, “Through the festival, we will showcase the beauty of Boseong and its tea culture to visitors, revitalize the local economy, and lead Boseong tea into a second renaissance.”

Meanwhile, from May 3 to May 7, various events such as Boseong Residents’ Day, Boseong Daily Concert, Ilrimsan Azalea Cultural Event, Children’s Day events, youth events, and nationwide sports events (marathon, yacht) will be held simultaneously throughout Boseong-gun, promising a variety of sights and entertainment.
