On the 19th, LG Uplus announced that starting this month, it will use reusable containers instead of disposable ones at the in-house cafe together with its employees. LG Uplus is receiving reusable containers through Trashbusters, a disposable product replacement service company, and since the 1st of this month, all beverages sold at the in-house cafe have been served in reusable containers. After finishing the drinks purchased at the in-house cafe, employees can place the containers in collection bins installed in the pantry on each floor of the office building, and Trashbusters collects them to undergo a six-step cleaning process.

To realize eco-friendly ESG management that responds to climate change, LG Uplus has established a 'Climate Change Governance' and is managing waste, water usage, energy, and greenhouse gases. In 2022, it joined K-RE100 for transitioning to renewable energy and is promoting energy reduction measures throughout its business operations.

Meanwhile, the LG Uplus in-house cafe is operated by its subsidiary WithU as a 'subsidiary-type standard workplace for people with disabilities.' Since 2019, about 30 employees with and without disabilities have been providing beverages and snacks for employees at the Yongsan office building. In November of last year, it also received the 'Good Workplace for People with Disabilities Award (Chairman's Award)' from the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled.

Lee Hong-ryeol, Head of the ESG Promotion Office at LG Uplus, said, "To respond to climate change, we will carry out eco-friendly ESG management activities that provide differentiated customer value by making small efforts in the daily lives of employees and customers."
