On the 16th, a post titled "Is this overcharging on a Jeju trip or not?" was uploaded to an online community. In the photo posted by the author, Mr. A, 20 pieces of sliced mackerel sashimi are neatly arranged on a plate. Calculating the price, it comes to 1,500 won per piece of sashimi. Mr. A asked netizens for their opinions, saying, "Jeju trip, is this overcharging?" and "I've heard mackerel sashimi is expensive."

Netizens who saw the story responded with comments such as, "Mackerel is easy to catch when fishing, so it seems they charged too much," "This looks exactly like the free service portions I got at a sashimi restaurant before," "Try putting all these pieces together to see if they make up one whole fish," and "Looking at the tail side, it seems like half a fish." Netizen B, who claimed to be involved in mackerel aquaculture, explained, "Mackerel caught by fishing or nets die immediately once out of water, so wild mackerel is usually distributed as fresh fish on ice. To distribute live fish, it must be farmed, which is why farmed mackerel is more expensive. When shipping live mackerel, the price is about 6,000 to 7,000 won per fish." He added, "I sometimes deliver products to sashimi restaurants, and when I saw that they charged 30,000 to 40,000 won per fish for sashimi, I thought it was expensive and criticized them. The amount of mackerel sashimi in the photo looks like less than half of one and a half mackerel. It's at a scammer level," he sharply criticized.

On the other hand, some netizens responded, "It's a blessing to get side dishes worth 30,000 won at a sashimi restaurant," "This is a reasonable price in Jeju," "30,000 won per table is almost free, I was lucky," "People say it's overcharging just by looking at the price of dead mackerel, but keeping mackerel alive is really difficult. Although the price looks like overcharging, if you think of it as a delicacy, the price won't matter," and "If sashimi and side dishes come out for 30,000 won, I think it's good value for money."
