Incheon City is accepting proposals for resident-participation budget projects for the 2025 budget formulation until April 12.
This system allows citizens to directly propose city projects and participate in the formulation, execution, and settlement of related budgets. Anyone, including Incheon residents, workers, students, and organization members located in Incheon, can freely submit proposals.
Project proposals can be submitted by filling out the application form attached on the Incheon City website and submitting it online, by mail, fax, or in person. Projects in all areas directly related to the happiness and convenience of citizens among the affairs under Incheon City's jurisdiction are eligible.
Submitted project proposals will be reviewed by the relevant departments, followed by policy consulting from the Incheon Research Institute, deliberation by the subcommittees and general assembly of the Resident Participation Budget Committee, and final selection. The selected projects will be reflected in next year's budget draft and finalized through the city council's review and resolution.
The city plans to focus on discovering new projects that can enhance citizens' satisfaction through this call for proposals. In particular, to prevent cases excluded from evaluation due to similar or duplicate projects, the city website allows users to search for already ongoing projects and their budget amounts.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We will do our best to gather fresh and diverse ideas proposed by citizens and, together with the newly formed 9th Resident Participation Budget Committee, ensure that projects essential to citizens are selected."
