In response to the government's plan to increase medical school quotas, residents at major hospitals in the Incheon area have reportedly submitted their resignation letters.
According to the medical community on the 16th, some residents affiliated with Gachon University Gil Medical Center and Inha University Hospital recently submitted resignation letters individually to their hospitals.
The exact number of residents who submitted resignation letters has not been disclosed.
According to Incheon City, there are 528 residents, including interns and residents, at eight hospitals in Incheon.
Each hospital is reportedly planning not to accept the residents' resignation letters in accordance with government orders.
