Pukyong National University Honors Outstanding Foreign Graduates with Special Awards

10 Recipients Selected for the "Proud Foreign Exchange Student Award"

National Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-su) held a special awards ceremony to select outstanding graduates among international students from around the world during the graduation season.

The International Exchange Headquarters of Pukyong National University (Head Kim Hyun-woo) held the 'Proud Pukyong National University International Student Award' ceremony at the Future Hall on the 15th, awarding certificates and prizes to 10 international students.

Pukyong National University established this award for the first time this year to encourage exemplary students among international students each semester who excel in academic performance and research achievements and help other students, in response to the increasing number of international students every year.

As of October last year, Pukyong National University has 1,729 international students from 72 countries enrolled in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, exchange programs, and training courses.

On this day, 10 international students from countries including Indonesia, China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Sudan were selected as outstanding graduates for their excellent academic records and research achievements, including Vinti Nasrun from Indonesia (completed doctoral program in Polymer Engineering).

Vinti Nasrun, who studied at Pukyong National University, published 12 SCI-level papers and received the Busan Future Scientist Award, said, "I entered Korea in 2020 during the difficult times of COVID-19 and faced many challenges, but with the help of my advisor and staff, I was able to graduate safely and achieve good results. I am satisfied and grateful to the university. I plan to continue my research in the lab after graduation and want to stay in Korea."

Pukyong National University is conducting various programs not only for this award but also to encourage outstanding international students from around the world, build international networks, and promote development in academic research fields.
