On the 15th, former President Moon shared on his Facebook, "Early this morning, I sent my pet dog Tori to the afterlife," adding, "Due to a long-standing heart condition, we couldn't enjoy our favorite early morning walks together for the past two months. Tori's condition fluctuated as we visited the hospital, but ultimately, he took his last breath."
He continued, "At 12 years old, he lived a long life," and said, "Fortunately, he passed away peacefully surrounded by our entire family."

Former President Moon said, "Tori was cremated and buried among the trees next to our home’s field," adding, "It’s the place where Tori used to play and right beside Maru, who passed away earlier."
Tori was a stray dog adopted from the animal protection organization CARE shortly after former President Moon’s inauguration in 2017. In October 2015, when Tori was four years old, he was rescued from an abandoned house in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, but due to the 'Black Dog Syndrome,' which views black dogs as ominous, he was unable to find a new owner for two years.
However, Tori was adopted by former President Moon and became the protagonist of a 'dog life turnaround.' In 2018, he served as the mascot for campaigns promoting the end of dog meat consumption and encouraging the adoption of stray animals, gaining much love and affection.
