Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) is implementing the 'Small Business Card Fee Support Project.'
According to Seo-gu on the 15th, this project was promoted to alleviate the economic burden of small business owners who are struggling due to prolonged economic downturn and rising prices.
The support target is tenant small business owners with annual sales of less than 100 million KRW in the previous year who have been operating their business premises from before July 1, 2023, to the announcement date (February 15). Seo-gu will support card transaction fees equivalent to 0.5% of card sales, up to a maximum of 300,000 KRW.
Applications can be made by preparing related documents such as business registration certificates and lease contracts, either by visiting the local administrative welfare center, Seo-gu Small Business Management Support Center, or through the website. Detailed information on required documents can be found on the Seo-gu Small Business Management Support Center website.
However, ▲ small business owners operating stores they own ▲ industries excluded from small business policy fund support ▲ businesses with local tax arrears ▲ unregistered businesses, businesses with incomplete tax filings to the National Tax Service (non-filers) ▲ non-profit organizations, non-profit businesses, and corporations are excluded from support.
Seo-gu plans to verify data such as annual sales through the National Tax Service for applicants' convenience and will review eligibility before sequentially providing support funds within one month from the application date.
Jung Sohyun, head of the Economic Division, said, "We hope that supporting card fees, one of the major burdens for small business owners, will provide some economic strength," and added, "We will continue to prepare various policies to revitalize small business owners and local commercial districts."
