Ulsan Holds First Urban Regeneration Committee This Year... 65 Billion KRW Invested in Hogye Area Specialization Project

'100-Year Regeneration Departing Again, Overflowing Cheolcheol and Another Hogye' 1 Case Reviewed

Ulsan City will hold the "Ulsan Metropolitan City Urban Regeneration Committee" on the 15th at 2 p.m. in the situation room on the 7th floor of the city hall main building.

On this day, the city of Ulsan announced that the committee will review and approve one new urban regeneration activation plan titled "100 Years of Regeneration Restarting, Overflowing Cheolcheol and Again Hogye."

This project is a region-specific regeneration project targeting Hogye Station in Nongsan 1-dong, Buk-gu, Hogye Public Market, and Sudong Village area. A total project cost of 64.968 billion KRW will be invested, and it will be implemented over four years from this year until 2027.

The main project content includes creating leisure and cultural hub spaces utilizing historical and cultural resources within the idle railway land.

Additionally, by developing content that reflects the local identity, branding the Hogye Market, and operating the Horakai Pub, the project aims to revitalize traditional commercial districts and establish a foundation for urban vitality. Once implemented, this project is expected to breathe new life into the declining area through urban regeneration.

The "100 Years of Regeneration Restarting, Overflowing Cheolcheol and Again Hogye" project is carried out in accordance with the "New Government Urban Regeneration Promotion Plan" announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on July 28 last year.
