Jo Hyun-young, formerly of the group Rainbow, has once again denied allegations of involvement in a 'coin scam.'
On the 14th, Jo Hyun-young stated through her YouTube channel community, "I am completely unrelated to the current controversy surrounding Cheongnyeon Pay and Winners Coin. Regarding this, I am preparing to file a criminal complaint against the officials of the Youth Committee."
Previously, Jo Hyun-young clarified that the claim she was an ambassador for 'Cheongnyeon Pay,' which is suspected of being a scam coin (cryptocurrency fraud), is not true. She rebutted, "It is entirely false that I was an ambassador for 'Cheongnyeon Pay.' The ambassador position I was offered was for the 'Korean Youth Committee'."
Despite the ongoing controversy, Jo Hyun-young explained, "I never expected Cheongnyeon Pay to be related to fraud or scams. I only recognized it as part of the youth support projects carried out by the Youth Committee, so I did not even suspect anything. Moreover, the work I performed as an ambassador was solely promotional activities for the organization called the Youth Committee, and I never directly promoted Cheongnyeon Pay even once."
Regarding the photo taken with a person involved in the 'Cheongnyeon Pay' scam, she said, "We were not close enough to meet separately," and added, "I have never discussed the Korean Youth Committee or Cheongnyeon Pay with that person." She further explained, "Until I posted my previous statement, I could not have imagined that person was connected to the current controversy."
Jo Hyun-young apologized, saying, "Since my debut in 2009, I have worked for about 15 years in the entertainment industry, striving to live without any scandals more than anyone else. However, I should have been more cautious when meeting people and forming relationships, and I am truly sorry for causing concern to everyone because of this."
She emphasized, "After 15 years, I can firmly say that I have never been involved in the coin scam or any related controversies. I will request the Korean Youth Committee to dismiss me as an ambassador and plan to take legal action, including civil and criminal measures, as soon as possible."
