The city of Naju is making steady progress in the second year of the ‘Naju Bapsang Designated Establishments’ project, which was launched as a key policy initiative of the 8th local government term to promote food tourism.
Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 14th that it has completed support projects for the first 21 designated Naju Bapsang establishments last year.

The city provided the first 21 designated restaurants with Naju Bapsang designation plaques, hygiene improvement items such as aprons and spoon rests, as well as auxiliary projects including consulting, management mindset and service education, and SNS promotion, receiving great responses from business owners.
The satisfaction level of diners who experienced Naju Bapsang was also high.
According to a consumer survey of the 21 designated establishments, 71.3% of respondents answered “strongly agree” to questions regarding ‘trustworthiness,’ ‘revisit intention,’ and ‘willingness to recommend to others.’
A city official stated, “Above all, since these are designated establishments certified for taste, hygiene, and friendliness, it is analyzed that customer satisfaction was high,” adding, “We hope that a more friendly and delicious food culture will spread through the strictly regulated Naju Bapsang.”
The city plans to select an additional 20 Naju Bapsang designated establishments this year, aiming for a total of 100 designated places.
In particular, the city intends to develop various contents such as storytelling foods unique to Naju, Naju Bapsang brand products, and tourism products linked to the results of the Yeongsangang National Cooking Competition, which was held for the first time last year, to revitalize the local economy.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “We will do our best to enhance the competitiveness of the food culture that can only be enjoyed in Naju and to spread the Naju Bapsang brand image,” adding, “We hope that restaurants people want to visit again and the flavors of Naju that people want to eat again will become a catalyst for regional economic and tourism revitalization.”
