The Arab Emirates Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition (AEEDC) has been held annually in Dubai since 1996. It is the largest dental medical device exhibition in the Middle East and the second largest in the world. The exhibition has continuously expanded and evolved by adding new halls and introducing new exhibition formats each year, establishing itself as a representative exhibition of the global dental industry beyond the MENASA (Middle East, North Africa, South Asia) region.
This year’s ‘AEEDC 2024’ covered a total floor area of 59,074 sqm (an approximately 11% increase from last year’s 53,217 sqm), with 3,924 companies from over 60 countries participating. During the exhibition period, more than 66,000 visitors from 155 countries attended.
Among the 3,924 companies participating in ‘AEEDC 2024,’ about 88% were overseas companies. In Korea, a record number of 167 companies participated, including 9 companies from the Daegu joint pavilion, engaging in various activities to target the dental medical device markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Nanoray, one of the Daegu joint pavilion companies, specializes in manufacturing portable dental X-rays. Through continuous participation in exhibitions, it has consistently received evaluations from overseas buyers recognizing its advanced technological capabilities. The company discussed dealership contracts worth $1.6 million with companies from Oman, the UK, Pakistan, and Georgia, and signed strategic partnerships and dealership contracts worth $150,000 with countries including Iran, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
One Day Biotech employees are conducting export consultations with overseas buyers at the Daegu joint pavilion.
Additionally, Surgident, a Daegu City Free Start-up company, discussed contract promotion worth $500,000, including setting up a regional dealer base in the United Arab Emirates for its xenograft and fixation screw devices (GBR SCREW). Lepio discussed contract promotion worth $50,000 with countries such as India, Germany, Turkey, and Armenia for dental laboratory equipment and consumables.
Other companies participating in the joint pavilion actively engaged in consultations, resulting in various contract signings and receiving positive evaluations from global buyers for their excellent technological capabilities, brightening the prospects for diversifying the export market of local dental medical devices in the future.
Choi Un-baek, Director of the Future Innovation Growth Office of Daegu City, said, “Through the achievements at this Dubai Dental Equipment Exhibition (AEEDC 2024), we were able to reaffirm the excellence of the local dental industry and its competitiveness in the global market. Daegu City will continue to lead the digital transformation of the dental industry based on the region’s excellent dental industry infrastructure and will spare no effort to support local companies’ entry into overseas markets.”
