Ando Geol: "We Will Radically Improve the Traffic Environment in Gwangju Dong and Nam Districts"

Ando-geol, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for the Gwangju Metropolitan City Dong-gu Nam-gu-eul constituency in the general election, stated on the 12th, "We need to improve and expand the entry and exit roads of habitual congestion sections such as Sotae, Duam, and Hakun IC, and expand advanced safety facilities to prevent traffic accidents." He added, "Along with this, we will drastically improve the traffic environment in the Dong and Nam districts of Gwangju by constructing a multi-purpose tower-type public parking lot in the Chungjang-ro and Dongmyeong-dong areas to resolve parking difficulties."

Candidate Ahn said, "The Gwangju City government is promoting traffic policies such as expanding entry and exit roads as an annual project to resolve the habitual congestion phenomenon at the interchanges of the Second Ring Road," adding, "However, since securing project funds is challenging, I, as a budget expert, will definitely secure the necessary budget for these projects."

He continued, "One of the reasons for the decline of the Chungjang commercial district is the lack of parking spaces, and in the case of Dongmyeong-dong, as new commercial areas such as cafes have formed, the main roads and every corner of the alleys become parking lots during the evening hours," emphasizing, "A tower-type public parking lot that can be used for multiple purposes must be promptly constructed in the Chungjang-ro and Dongmyeong-dong areas."

Preliminary candidate Ando-geol added, "We must significantly improve poor traffic conditions such as habitual congestion and parking difficulties that adversely affect citizens' quality of life, but project costs are always an obstacle," and said, "Having worked as the Budget General Review Officer, Budget Director, and Vice Minister at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, I have a thorough understanding of the entire budgeting process and can demonstrate outstanding capability in securing budgets more than anyone else."
