Yangcheon-gu Unveils 41 Unique Tourist Spots Including Dog Parks

Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 12th that it has selected and 공개한 41 unique urban tourist courses with good accessibility for tourists and residents, centered around hidden local attractions and major hub facilities.

The newly selected courses are characterized by allowing tourists to selectively choose local attractions and key facilities according to themes and regions. The main themes include ▲ Yangcheon-gu Attractions (7 locations) ▲ Sports & Healing (11 locations) ▲ Culture & Experience (11 locations) ▲ Shopping & Traditional Markets (5 locations) ▲ Dog Parks (7 locations), totaling 41 places.

In line with the era of 15 million pet owners, the district newly added a ‘Dog Park Course’ that takes advantage of the district’s dog-shaped geographical features. The locations, sizes, types, and facility compositions of the dog parks are clearly organized, making it a recommended travel destination for those with dogs.

‘Yangcheon-gu Neighborhoods,’ composed of six walking courses by region targeting the walking craze ‘walkers,’ takes 40 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes on foot, focusing on representative attractions in the legal neighborhoods of Mok-dong, Sinwol-dong, and Sinjeong-dong.

The revamped tourist courses can be found on the district office’s website under the sector-specific information (Culture & Tourism) bulletin board. The district also posted a QR code shaped like ‘Bolbbangbbang Haewoori,’ which can be easily accessed with a single smartphone camera scan, enhancing accessibility for the MZ generation.

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We are introducing ‘Yangcheon-gu Hot Places,’ filled with unique tourist resources exclusive to our district so that people can fully immerse themselves in the charm of Yangcheon. We hope for much interest and utilization.” He added, “We will actively discover and develop cultural and tourism resources to make Yangcheon a ‘charming city’ full of diverse sights and activities.”
