A shooting incident occurred in Times Square, New York, USA, where a tourist was hit by a stray bullet and transported to a hospital.
According to local media on the 9th (local time), around 7 p.m. the previous day, a security guard stopped three men who were trying to steal items from a sporting goods store in Times Square.
When the security guard took the stolen items away, one of the men pulled out a gun and fired. The security guard was not hit, but a 37-year-old Brazilian female tourist shopping nearby was struck by a stray bullet.
The suspects who fired the gun then fled the scene via a nearby subway. Police arrested one of the three theft suspects near the scene.
The arrested theft suspect is a 15-year-old teenager, reportedly staying at a shelter for undocumented immigrants.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian tourist who was shot near the knee was transported to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
