Refusal to Submit to Breathalyzer Test under the Road Traffic Act
On the 8th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that singer and actor Kim Jeong-hoon (44), formerly of the group UN, was sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of refusing a breathalyzer test after causing a car accident while driving.
According to the police, Kim is accused of refusing a breathalyzer test (refusal of alcohol measurement under the Road Traffic Act) after causing an accident around 3:30 a.m. on December 29 last year by changing lanes and colliding with the vehicle ahead on Nambusunhwan-ro in Irwon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
As a result of this accident, the driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, and Kim was also charged with injury under the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents.
Kim had his license revoked in July 2011 after being booked on charges of drunk driving.
