Krafton announced that it will release multiple new games starting this year.
Kim Chang-han, CEO of Krafton, explained this during a conference call held on the 8th. Krafton highlighted its major new titles as ▲Dark and Darker Mobile ▲inZOI ▲Dingcom Mobile ▲Black Budget ▲Subnautica 2. Additionally, they mentioned that through a 'Second Party Publishing' strategy, which combines minority equity investments and publishing contracts, they have invested in more than 10 external developers.
He added, "Dark and Darker Mobile, developed using the intellectual property (IP) that emerged like a comet in 2022, aims to replicate the success of PUBG expanding from PC to mobile platforms to secure more users," and explained, "inZOI recently confirmed high fan interest through G-Star and is an attempt to challenge a genre long dominated by The Sims."
He continued, "The fastest-prepared title is 'Dark and Darker Mobile,' and 'inZOI' and 'Black Budget' aim for early access releases within the year," stating that they will continue to expand the service and esports business of 'Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI),' which is highly popular in the Indian market, while exploring new business opportunities.
Furthermore, he added that they plan to introduce AI-based deep learning technology throughout the entire game development process to optimize production costs.
Meanwhile, Krafton reported that its consolidated operating profit for last year increased by 2.2% year-on-year to 768 billion KRW. Revenue rose by 3.1% to 1.9106 trillion KRW, and net profit increased by 18.8% to 594.1 billion KRW.
Sales of PUBG PC and console versions have steadily grown over the past three years, and the Indian market version of PUBG Mobile, 'Battlegrounds Mobile India,' set record-high sales and concurrent user numbers.
