"Due to Safety Negligence"... Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Busan Headquarters Conducts Campaign at Industrial Cluster Sites

"The way to eliminate industrial accident fatalities lies in establishing an on-site safety and health management system!"


The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) Busan Regional Headquarters (Head: Gong Heung-du) has launched an industrial complex safety campaign. On the 7th, the Busan Headquarters announced on the 8th that it conducted a campaign to raise safety awareness to prevent industrial accident fatalities at the Busan Gangseo-gu Industrial Complex Corporation.


The headquarters is carrying out a project to establish a safety and health management system for workplaces with fewer than 50 employees, following the expanded enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, to eliminate workers' safety insensitivity amid the recent consecutive industrial accident fatalities.

On that day, for employees commuting to the Gangseo-gu Industrial Complex Corporation, information was provided on the current status of industrial accident fatalities, guidance on the Industrial Safety Diagnosis, and major manufacturing accident OPS. Additionally, major sites were visited to inform about emergency inspections linked with the Ministry of Employment and Labor supervision and to encourage improvements in the working environment.


The Industrial Safety Diagnosis refers to a comprehensive safety measure aimed at preventing serious accidents and preparing for the Serious Accidents Punishment Act by self-assessing the establishment and implementation of safety and health management systems in small and medium-sized workplaces and linking with customized support projects to improve safety levels.


Head Gong Heung-du stated, "The KOSHA Busan Regional Headquarters is concentrating all its capabilities to protect the precious lives in workplaces vulnerable to serious accidents," adding, "If there is active willingness in industrial sites, becoming an advanced country in industrial safety will soon be realized."
