Geochang-gun's 'Love Temperature Tower' Reaches 130℃ Through Citizens' Passion

'Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign' Raises 235 Million Won

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 7th that the 'Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign' Love Thermometer raised a total of 235 million KRW, surpassing 130℃ and ending warmly.

With the slogan "Make myself valuable through donation! Make Geochang valuable!", this sharing campaign was held simultaneously nationwide for 62 days from December 1 last year to January 31 this year. Despite anticipated difficulties in fundraising due to the ongoing economic downturn following COVID-19, the passionate enthusiasm and loving support of the residents helped exceed the target amount of 180.45 million KRW within just one month, achieving the goal early.

Every year-end and New Year, anonymous donation angels faithfully appear, and donations from individuals, organizations, companies, and schools who take the lead in sharing by first looking after neighbors in need continue. As a result, the Geochang-gun Love Thermometer easily surpasses 100℃ annually.

Gu In-mo, the county governor, said, "Despite the increased household burdens due to the economic downturn, thanks to the active participation of our residents, organizations, and companies, the Love Thermometer has exceeded its target amount every year," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the precious donations and goods are used well for those in need."

Meanwhile, the funds raised during the Hope 2024 Sharing Campaign will be used for various welfare projects for neighbors in need within the district through the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea.
