Operated for 80 days from February 7 to April 26
The Geochang Police Station in Gyeongnam will operate an election crime investigation situation room in preparation for the "22nd National Assembly Election" to be held on April 10.
The election crime investigation situation room will be operated for 80 days from the 7th to April 26. The situation room will be set up in the Suga Building of the Geochang Police Station and will be responsible for managing the crackdown and investigation of election crimes within Geochang County 24 hours a day.
The police have defined five major election crimes that seriously undermine the fairness of elections: "bribery," "spreading false information," "public officials' involvement in elections," "election violence," and "illegal organization mobilization," and plan to focus on cracking down and investigating these.
Kim Min-jun, chief of the Geochang Police Station, said, "To ensure that this National Assembly election is conducted cleanly and fairly, the Geochang police will carry out thorough crackdowns and investigations on illegal election activities with a strict neutral stance," and added, "Active reporting by the residents is also important to realize a fair election, so please actively report any illegal election activities to the police."
