Jung-gu, 'Creating Better Apartment Communities' Briefing Session on the 7th

Budget Increased by 350 Million Won to Support Improvements of Senior Centers and Playgrounds

Jung-gu, 'Creating Better Apartment Communities' Briefing Session on the 7th

On the 7th at 3 PM, Jung-gu District in Seoul will hold the ‘2024 THE Joyful Apartment Complex Contest Project Briefing Session’ at the Sindang Nuri Center Auditorium, targeting over 100 residents including apartment complex resident representatives, Home Leaders, and building managers.

The apartment complex contest project supports creating a pleasant and livable residential environment for apartment complexes with 20 or more households, covering a total of 69 complexes (25,593 households). The main support includes the ‘Apartment Complex Support Project’ for facility repair, reinforcement, and functional improvement, and the ‘Apartment Complex Revitalization Project’ that enables residents to communicate with neighbors.

Especially this year, reflecting residents’ opinions, the scale of the Apartment Complex Support Project has been significantly expanded. To this end, a budget of 1 billion KRW was allocated, an increase of 350 million KRW compared to last year. Last year, the focus was on safety improvement projects such as stone retaining walls, slopes, railings, and exterior wall cracks. This year, support has been expanded to include improvements to resident convenience facilities such as senior citizen centers, playgrounds, and rest areas.

The support ratio for the Apartment Complex Support Project is determined by review, ranging from a maximum of 30% to 80% of each project cost. In addition, support for relatively vulnerable small-scale aging apartment complexes will be expanded to ensure safety more thoroughly.

Jung-gu encourages the activation of the ‘THE Joyful Our Apartment’ project. Based on residents’ opinions, specialized projects tailored to the characteristics of each complex will be selected and supported. The fields include △ Communication & Harmony △ Eco-friendly Practices △ Hobby & Culture Classes △ Education & Childcare △ Neighbor Assistance & Talent Donation, totaling five categories. The total support amount is 30 million KRW, with up to 5 million KRW per complex, selecting 10 complexes.

Furthermore, various resident experience programs will be directly implemented by visiting apartment complexes. These include the Public Health Center’s visiting metabolic syndrome management project, Jung-gu Cultural Foundation’s Music Parade visiting concerts, visiting conflict management, and visiting tax consultation services.

After the briefing session, to prepare for the recent consecutive apartment complex fires, fire safety education will be conducted under the supervision of the Jungbu Fire Station. The training covers fire prevention, evacuation procedures during a fire, and how to use escape equipment to minimize damage.

Additionally, a ‘Lunar New Year Holiday Life Information Guide’ containing essential ‘tips’ such as emergency medical institutions and pharmacies open during the holiday, cultural facilities with free admission, parking information, and garbage disposal days will be produced and distributed.
