Public Subsidies Range from Minimum 55,000 to Maximum 500,000 KRW
LGU+ Offers the Most Support... SKT and KT Also Double

Three mobile carriers (SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus) simultaneously increased the official subsidies for Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S24 series, allowing consumers to save up to 500,000 won.

According to the telecommunications industry on the 6th, the official subsidies for the Galaxy S24 series from the three carriers were confirmed to range from a minimum of 55,000 won to a maximum of 500,000 won per plan based on a 24-month contract. The initial official subsidies for the Galaxy S24 series, confirmed on the 26th of last month, ranged from a minimum of 50,000 won to a maximum of 240,000 won.
Assuming that dealerships and retailers can provide up to 15% of the official subsidy as a discount on the device purchase price, consumers can benefit from a minimum of 63,250 won to a maximum of 575,000 won.
The carrier offering the highest official subsidy is LG Uplus, providing support ranging from a minimum of 155,000 won to a maximum of 500,000 won. On the 2nd, LG Uplus had set official subsidies at around 120,000 to 450,000 won, increasing the subsidy by more than 200,000 won compared to the initial subsidy confirmed on the 26th of last month.
SK Telecom's official subsidies range from 163,000 won to 489,000 won, while KT's range from 55,000 won to 480,000 won. On the 26th of last month, SK Telecom's subsidies were between 100,000 and 200,000 won, and KT's were between 50,000 and 240,000 won.
The background behind the simultaneous increase in official subsidies by the mobile carriers is analyzed to be influenced by the Korea Communications Commission. On the 31st of last month, the Commission met with the vice presidents of the three carriers to request cooperation on expanding the official subsidies for the Galaxy S24 series.
