Match Shortened Due to Bad Weather... 'Lucky Guy' Clark Wins by 1 Stroke Wyndham Clark

The PGA Tour announced on the 4th (local time) that the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (total prize money $20 million), which was scheduled to be held at Pebble Beach Golf Links (par 72, 6,972 yards) in California, USA, would be concluded as a 54-hole event due to severe weather. The PGA Tour competition committee initially planned to postpone the event by one day, but after discussions with the Monterey County Office of Emergency Services, they decided to cancel the remaining rounds.

Clark led by one stroke through 3 rounds (17 under par, 199 strokes) to claim the title. This is his third career win, eight months after winning the US Open in June last year, with a winner’s prize of $3.6 million (approximately 4.8 billion KRW). Clark especially showcased incredible power in the third round, recording two eagles and nine birdies (with one bogey). His 60 strokes set a course record at Pebble Beach. The previous record was 61 strokes, set by Hurley Long (USA) in the 2017 collegiate Carmel Cup. Among professional players, four have recorded 62 strokes, including Tom Kite in 1983 and David Duval in 1997 (both USA).

Ludvig Aberg (Sweden) finished second (16 under par, 200 strokes), and last week’s Farmers Insurance Open winner Matthieu Pavon (France) placed third (15 under par, 201 strokes). From Korea, Kim Si-woo tied for 14th place (10 under par, 206 strokes), while Kim Joo-hyung, An Byeong-hun, and Kim Seong-hyun tied for 31st place (7 under par, 209 strokes). Im Sung-jae and world No. 2 Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) finished tied for 66th place (2 under par, 214 strokes).
