Police Agency Announces Large-Scale Transfers of Senior Officers... New Spokesperson Appointed as Yi Seung-ryeol, Senior Superintendent

On the 2nd, the government announced a large-scale personnel reshuffle for key positions within the National Police Agency, including the reassignment of 10 Police Inspectors General and 42 Senior Superintendents.


Police Agency Announces Large-Scale Transfers of Senior Officers... New Spokesperson Appointed as Yi Seung-ryeol, Senior Superintendent

Yoo Seung-ryeol, Police Agency Security Information Advisor, has been appointed as the spokesperson for the National Police Agency. Oh Moon-gyo, the former spokesperson and Police Inspector General, has been transferred to become the Chief of the Chungnam Police Agency.


Kim Soo-young, Chief of the Daegu Police Agency, has been appointed as the Police Agency Personnel Planning Officer; Choi Joo-won, Chief of the Gyeongbuk Police Agency, as Director of the Future Security Policy Bureau; and Bae Dae-hee, Deputy Chief of Investigation at the Seoul Police Agency, as Investigation Planning Coordinator at the National Investigation Headquarters.


Park Sung-joo, Director of the Future Security Policy Bureau, has moved to become the Director of the Police Human Resources Development Institute; Choi Hyun-seok, Investigation Planning Coordinator at the National Investigation Headquarters, has been appointed as the Principal of the Central Police Academy; and Choi Jong-moon, Personnel Planning Officer, has been transferred to Deputy Chief of Life Safety at the Seoul Police Agency. Yoo Jae-sung, Chief of the Chungnam Police Agency, will move to Daegu Police Agency Chief, and Kim Cheol-moon, Head of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit at the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency, will become Chief of the Gyeongbuk Police Agency.


All 42 Senior Superintendents were also subject to reassignment. Jo Jeong-rae, Deputy Commander of the 101 Security Unit at the Seoul Police Agency, has been appointed as Security Information Advisor; Lee Jae-young, Professor at the Central Police Academy, as Dean of Academic Affairs at the Police University; Lee In-sang, Director of Public Safety at the Jeonnam Police Agency, as Director of the Security Policy Research Institute at the Police University; and Lee Gwan-hyung, Head of Security Information Analysis at the Seoul Police Agency, as Dean of Professors at the Central Police Academy.


Kim Byung-chan, Head of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit at the Seoul Police Agency, will move to Chief of the Investigation Department; Im Kyung-woo, Head of the Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Division at the Police Agency, will become Head of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit at the Seoul Police Agency; and Joo Jin-woo, Chief of the Security Division at the Seoul Police Agency, will be transferred to Commander of the Riot Police Unit.
