Kang Mi-jung, the sister-in-law of former Suwon District Prosecutor Lee Jeong-seop, who reported allegations of misconduct against him, is currently under police investigation.

According to the Suseo Police Station in Seoul on the 2nd, Kang faces eight charges including theft, defamation, and violation of the Personal Information Protection Act. She was accused last November of stealing her husband Jo's mobile phone and leaking its contents externally. Kang and Jo are currently undergoing divorce proceedings.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office is investigating the allegations of misconduct against former prosecutor Lee. He is suspected of unauthorized access to ordinary citizens' criminal records and receiving resort use from a vice chairman of a corporation. Additionally, he is accused of facilitating the use of a golf course operated by his wife's family for fellow prosecutors and there are suspicions of covering up his brother-in-law's drug use incident.
