Dongbu Construction Wins Plant Construction Contract Worth 209 Billion KRW

Dongbu Construction has secured a plant project worth 209 billion KRW. On the 2nd, Dongbu Construction announced that it had won an additional contract for the construction of a secondary battery production facility with a capacity of 300 million cells, commissioned by Geumyang.

This project involves the construction of four new buildings for mechanical and electrical equipment and auxiliary facilities, in addition to the framework and civil engineering work of the 102 billion KRW secondary battery production facility located in Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan Metropolitan City, which Dongbu Construction had previously secured in September last year. With this additional contract, the total amount Dongbu Construction has secured for the Geumyang secondary battery project reaches 311 billion KRW. The construction period is approximately 19 months.

Dongbu Construction is focusing on sound management this year to overcome the downturn in the construction industry. In particular, it is pursuing diversification of its portfolio into areas such as industrial plants. Last year, Dongbu Construction's total order intake was about 2.3 trillion KRW. It currently holds an order backlog of approximately 9 trillion KRW, securing a stable revenue base.
