Minister of the Interior and Safety Orders "Fire Commissioner to Assess Situation On-Site"
Two firefighters were trapped while responding to a fire at a factory in Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk.
According to the Fire Agency on the 31st, a fire of unknown cause broke out at around 7:47 PM at a meat processing factory in Singi-dong, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongbuk.
So far, there have been no casualties, but it is reported that two rescue workers are trapped inside the factory.
The fire authorities issued a Level 2 response at around 8:49 PM and are conducting firefighting operations. A total of 79 firefighters and 35 pieces of equipment have been deployed.
Minister of the Interior and Safety, Sang-min Lee, was briefed on the situation that two rescue workers were trapped during the firefighting efforts and instructed the Fire Agency chief by phone, "The Fire Agency chief should go to the site to directly assess the situation and do their best to rescue the trapped firefighters," adding, "Related agencies must ensure the safety of the firefighting personnel and mobilize all available resources to quickly extinguish the fire."
