No Fraudulent Benefits Allowed! ... Gyeongnam Office of Education Holds Public Finance Recovery Act Training

On the 31st, the Gyeongnam Office of Education held a training session on the Public Finance Recovery Act for about 880 principals and directors of public schools (including single-establishment kindergartens) at the Uiryeong Future Education Center.


The provincial Office of Education announced that it invited a professional instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission to conduct training focused on the Public Finance Recovery System and the eradication of fraudulent claims for public financial payments.


According to the provincial Office of Education, the Public Finance Recovery System, implemented since January 2020, prohibits fraudulent claims related to public finances and recovers and manages profits obtained through such fraudulent claims.

Jung Hye-young, head of the Public Finance Recovery Management Division at the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, who served as the instructor, explained the reasons for the enactment of the law, its main contents, and vulnerable areas to fraudulent claims, focusing on the Public Finance Recovery System and measures to eradicate fraudulent claims.


The provincial Office of Education’s Audit Office emphasized the responsibility of public institutions by citing cases of fraudulent claims in public finances and major audit findings in the facilities sector.


The provincial Office of Education plans to prevent fraudulent claims of public finances such as subsidies in advance by conducting comprehensive audits and focusing on inspection and management.


Im Min-jae, the auditor, stated, “Our Office of Education will strengthen its operational capabilities of the Public Finance Recovery System to eliminate fraudulent claims of subsidies,” adding, “We will thoroughly inspect to prevent fraudulent claims of public finances and waste of public funds, and also enhance related training.”
