Uljin-gun conducted fire safety inspections at traditional markets in preparation for a safe Lunar New Year holiday.
This inspection was carried out in collaboration with the fire station, Gas Safety Corporation, electrical contractors, fire service contractors, and the market merchants' association, targeting facilities at risk of fire such as fire safety, electrical, and gas installations.
Particular focus was placed on checking the availability of fire extinguishers, proper operation of fire hydrants, use of octopus-style power strips, wiring defects and grounding status of electrical equipment, gas cylinder storage conditions, operation of gas shut-off valves, and securing fire truck access routes to prevent fire accidents in advance.
Additionally, the merchants' association was encouraged to organize a voluntary fire brigade to conduct nighttime patrols, and fire prevention guidelines were promoted to encourage voluntary participation.
On the 29th, Deputy Governor Park Se-eun visited Uljin Baji Market to inspect the operation of fire safety facilities, communication of situations, and fire safety measures, and took time to listen to suggestions and difficulties from the field. He stated, “We plan to continue conducting facility inspections to prevent fires in the future.”
