Gwangju Dong-gu Launches Health Information Messenger 'Geongang Tokpawon' for Active Engagement

On the 30th, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 'Dong-gu Health Talk Reporters,' who will serve as health information messengers for residents, on the 29th and will begin official activities.

In September last year, Dong-gu signed a business agreement with Chosun Nursing University to more broadly promote resident health promotion projects. They recruited Health Talk Reporters by matching 13 neighborhoods within the district with nursing students, ultimately selecting 15 members.

The 15 appointed 'Health Talk Reporters' will use personal SNS channels such as Instagram and blogs to promote customized health information and various public health projects for each neighborhood through creative and diverse content.

Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "As the saying goes, 'Even if you have a handful of beads, they are only valuable when strung together.' No matter how good a policy is, it is meaningless if residents do not know about it and do not use it." He added, "I hope all the Health Talk Reporters appointed today take pride in being the focal point for realizing a 'Healthy City Dong-gu' and serve as a bridge between Dong-gu and its residents through effective promotion."
