Practical education spreading smart agriculture and new technologies for cultivating high-quality agricultural products is taking place in Goryeong-gun.
Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) announced on the 30th that it will conduct New Year practical education for farmers to establish New Year farming plans and produce high-quality agricultural products.
The education started on the 29th and will be held a total of 7 times until February 7, targeting 950 farmers.
This education program is designed to provide practical benefits to increase farm income by introducing high-quality agricultural production technologies and new technologies such as garlic, onion, strawberry, rice, and microorganisms based on local agricultural conditions and demand.
On the 29th, instructor Kwon Young-seok gave a lecture titled "Post-winter cultivation management and pest control for high-quality garlic and onion production" at the Nonghyup Sanji Distribution Center in Daegaya-eup.
On the 30th, instructor Choi Moon-hwan took charge of education on "Strawberry cultivation and disease-free seedling production technology" at the Agricultural Technology Center auditorium, and on February 5, at the same auditorium, rural guidance officer Kim Mi-sook will provide education on "High-quality rice cultivation," followed by instructor Park Yoon-seok's "Eco-friendly microbial farming method." The other four sessions will be held at township offices and Nonghyup branches.
Lee Nam-cheol, governor of Goryeong-gun, said, "We will spare no administrative support to further revitalize the rural economy through smart agriculture and to greatly assist in establishing farm management plans and enhancing competitiveness."
