Bit Computer is showing strong performance. President Yoon Seok-yeol stated, "Non-face-to-face medical consultations have been greatly restricted since the pandemic," and added, "We will do our best to reflect these issues in legal amendments," which appears to be influencing the stock price.
As of 10:51 AM on the 30th, Bit Computer is trading at 7,600 KRW, up 23.38% from the previous day.
On the morning of the 30th, President Yoon Seok-yeol delivered opening remarks at a public discussion themed "Digital Coexistence, Protection of National Interests," held at the Startup Zone of the Gyeonggi Pangyo 2nd Technovalley Enterprise Support Hub. He said, "The government is continuing non-face-to-face medical consultations in the form of pilot projects, but complaints and regrets remain, such as restrictions on remote drug delivery." He added, "Many citizens criticize that the laws and systems regarding non-face-to-face medical consultations are outdated."
Bit Computer is a healthcare-specialized company holding the number one market share in domestic medical information and the top record in remote medical system implementation. It has established remote medical systems in over 1,000 overseas institutions including Thailand, Mongolia, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Cambodia, and the Amazon River hospital ship in Brazil, and launched the EMR-integrated non-face-to-face medical consultation platform 'BaroDoctor' service in 2023.
Bit Computer and Inorules consortium won the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) project for the "Digitalization of Health Insurance Review Procedures and Remote Medical Platform Construction for Vulnerable Groups in Peru." As the main contractor, Bit Computer will build the remote medical system, while Inorules will develop the automated health insurance review support system for this project.
BaroDoctor, a service provided by Bit Computer, is differentiated from existing non-face-to-face platforms by operating in real-time linkage with hospital and clinic Electronic Medical Records (EMR). It focuses on non-face-to-face consultations for returning patients in accordance with government pilot project guidelines. Users such as patients and guardians can use the BaroDoctor app to search for hospitals, make reservations, and receive non-face-to-face consultations. Hospitals can be searched by medical department and symptoms, and both in-person and non-face-to-face appointments can be made. Users can designate favorite hospitals and pharmacies for convenient registration and reservations, and Bit Computer explains that the platform is designed with essential functions to enhance user convenience.
BaroDoctor's API is designed to be compatible with all EMRs, enabling medical institutions to conduct non-face-to-face consultations linked with their EMRs. Compared to other non-face-to-face consultation platforms currently in service, it allows consultations without separate EMR input. It supports integration with EMRs for hospitals, long-term care hospitals, clinics, as well as third-party EMRs.
