Last year, the most loved Subway sandwich by domestic consumers was the 'Italian B.M.T.'

Subway, the sandwich brand, revealed the '2023 Best Sub 5' on the 30th, selecting the best-selling menu items based on last year's sales volume.

First, in the sandwich category, five items made the list: 'Italian B.M.T.', 'Egg Mayo', 'Steak & Cheese', 'Roast Chicken', and 'Subway Club.'

The number one spot was claimed by Subway's signature menu item and a global bestseller, the Italian B.M.T., reaffirming its explosive popularity. It is a menu that combines rich ingredients such as aged pepperoni, salami, and ham with cheese and various vegetables to enjoy the best taste, and it is also the most recommended menu for Subway 'beginners.' Based on the 15cm sandwich, about 10.84 million units were sold last year alone.

The well-known steady seller Egg Mayo proved its reputation by ranking second. Egg Mayo sold about 22,000 units daily, recording an annual sales volume of 8 million units. It is analyzed that the harmonious combination of fresh eggs and savory mayonnaise sauce, crafted in Subway's golden ratio, continuously captivated the taste buds of domestic consumers.

Ranking third with approximately 5.2 million units sold was Steak & Cheese. It is said to have been chosen by consumers who wanted a hearty meal with a beef sandwich featuring the rich juice of beef chop steak and the savory flavor of cheese.

In fourth and fifth places were Roast Chicken, popular as a weight and health management menu using lean chicken breast, and Subway Club, which features a honey combination of smoky ham, clean-flavored chicken slices, and crispy bacon.

Additionally, in the salad category for diet-conscious and dieting consumers, Roast Chicken, roasted in the oven to enhance its mild flavor, and Rotisserie Barbecue Chicken, hand-shredded to maximize tenderness, were selected as the bestsellers in first and second place, respectively. Third place was taken by 'Veggie,' a fully vegan salad that even vegan consumers can enjoy deliciously.
