TSI announced on the 29th that it will participate in SEMICON Korea 2024, held at COEX in Seoul from January 31 to February 2, showcasing the domestically first-developed STO-ML (SpaceTransformer Organic-Multi Layer) and various semiconductor total test solution products.
TSI was established in 1994 to localize memory semiconductor test interface boards, test sockets, and handler change kits, which were entirely imported from the United States and Japan at the time. Since 2006, it has consistently maintained over 40% market share and the number one ranking in the domestic test interface board sector.
Vertical probe cards and test interface boards for ultra-high-speed semiconductor testing such as CPU, GPU, and HBM require ultra-fine pitch STO-ML. TSI, together with its subsidiary Tiger Elec, developed the 50um pitch STO-ML domestically for the first time. This succeeded in localizing STO-ML, which had been entirely dependent on imports. Additionally, TSI has established a system capable of smoothly producing high multi-layer, ultra-fine printed circuit boards (PCBs), which are key components for testing ultra-high-speed semiconductors.
In 2021, to mass-produce STO-ML, TSI and its subsidiary Tiger Elec set up Mega Elec in Vietnam, which has ultra-precision build-up substrate process capabilities, establishing mass production facilities capable of supplying STO-ML products. The 50um pitch STO-ML developed by TSI is a product that only a few overseas companies can produce. TSI plans to supply STO-ML to vertical probe card manufacturers worldwide as well.
