Domestic AI virtual human entertainment company Vitec CNT, which created the virtual human ‘Yesle e’, announced that it has developed its own voice recognition technology and produced a cover of Maroon 5's 'Memories'.

Vitec CNT is a company that, based on deep learning technology, utilizes intellectual property (IP) of real-life celebrities to produce AI virtual humans (virtual influencers) for lectures, broadcasts, music, fan meetings, movies, concerts, and manages these businesses. It attracted significant attention in the IT industry last year.

In the industry, ‘Yesle e’ is the first case of securing the IP of a real actress to create a virtual human. While most active virtual humans target the MZ generation, ‘Yesle e’ aims to secure a new position in the market by assigning the professional occupation of ‘elite instructor’.

Jung Mina, CEO of Vitec CNT, said, “It takes one year for a company to produce a single virtual human, an average of three years to promote it, and the minimum marketing cost is about 500 million to 900 million KRW. In contrast, a digital human of a real famous star can debut immediately and attract existing fans, saving hundreds of millions of won in costs.” She added, “Also, the fee is lower than that of hiring a real actor, and actors can expand their activities beyond their original fields to lectures, albums, character businesses targeting students, and various other content. With this differentiated strategy, we will lead the metaverse market and media trends.”

CEO Jung Mina is a former MBC announcer and currently a female university student majoring in law at Yonsei University, while also working as a young female entrepreneur. She is known to have an understanding of media content, enabling the production of virtual humans with storytelling. Additionally, having majored in science and engineering during her undergraduate studies, she personally participated in the development of technologies used in this cover song, such as TTS/STT (AI voice synthesis technology) and Lip-sync generation (lip shape learning).

Vitec CNT has been residing in Yonsei University Campus Town after winning the Yonsei University Campus Town competition last year and is actively conducting business collaboration activities with Yonsei University. The company also was selected for Hanyang University Startup Camp and recognized as an excellent company at the 2023 A-STREAM. Through these active activities, it holds IPs of various domestic and international artists, including actress Han Ye-seul’s IP, and plans to expand into China and Japan starting with the release of the ‘Yesle e’ cover song.
