Nara Knowledge Information "Suggesting AI Technology Direction from Human Perspective"

Nara Knowledge Information, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), announced on the 25th that it will publish a monograph titled 'AI Empathetic Conversation,' which addresses the importance of forming human-like empathy in AI. The book was created using the results of the 'empathetic conversation' data developed as part of the AI training data construction project promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).

"AI Also Needs Empathy"… Narajisikjeongbo Publishes 'AI Empathetic Conversation'

'AI Empathetic Conversation' explains what 'empathetic conversation' is and presents the process of building AI training data. This idea originated from concerns about side effects arising from the rapid development of AI technology, emphasizing that AI should acquire empathy, one of the uniquely human traits. Nara Knowledge Information expects that 'AI Empathetic Conversation,' based on empathetic conversation data, will contribute to cultivating AI's empathy skills and proposing new application methods, leading to a qualitative leap in future AI application services.

Nara Knowledge Information is a company that develops databases and AI projects centered on Korean language, history, and cultural data. Since 2008, it has carried out over 600 data projects for more than 50 institutions, including the Academy of Korean Studies, the Presidential Archives, and NIA. In 2020, it completed 18 AI training data construction tasks for NIA, and since last year, it has been promoting new projects such as developing large language models (LLM) and publishing monographs using datasets released on AI Hub.

A representative from Nara Knowledge Information stated, "The significance of 'AI Empathetic Conversation' lies in presenting the direction of AI technology development from a human-centered empathy perspective rather than a technology-centered uniform approach," adding, "It is part of efforts to instill human-like empathy and communication skills into AI, which are becoming increasingly important in the AI era."
