Iljasan Extending Straight Without Excess
Jongdalse Yua Forest, Gangdong Greenway Camping Site Developed

Iljasan, spanning Dunchon-dong in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province, is characterized by its ridgeline stretching straight like the character 'Il (一)', meaning 'one'. If you head straight along the main road, you can reach a lush forest trail extending 3 km, which can be enjoyed by people of all ages without any burden. How about setting out on the 'Iljasan Forest Trail' where you can walk freely with your family this weekend?

[One Day Walk] Family-Friendly Course for Walking with Children, 'Iljasan Forest Nadeulgil'

The Iljasan Forest Trail is a 5.21 km course starting from 'Gildong Natural Ecology Park' and continuing to 'Gangdong Greenway Family Camping Site' and 'Dunchon Ijip Teacher Dungul'.

Gildong Natural Ecology Park was established in 1999 with a focus on ecosystem observation and experience. It consists of various ecosystems such as wetlands, forests, reservoirs, and grasslands, where you can easily spot wetland creatures like kingfishers, mandarin ducks, and water beetles. Various seasonal experience programs are also available.

Passing the walking trail, you will find the Herb Astronomy Park. Covering an area of 25,500㎡, it opened in 2006. The park features a herb garden, native plant garden, Gwanchundae observatory, viewing deck, and walking paths, making it a popular spot among residents. Especially for nighttime visitors, 282 multicolored constellation lights are installed throughout the park floor, allowing visitors to enjoy constellations that change colors moment by moment, which is quite fascinating.

The path continues to Iljasan Natural Park. This area is full of attractions such as the Herb Astronomy Park, Jongdalse Nursery Forest, Gangdong Greenway Camping Site, Healing Forest Trail, and a lawn plaza. The abundance of large trees gives a refreshing feeling as if you have entered a great mountain. Among these, the Gangdong Greenway Camping Site is highly popular and often cited by users as a camping site they want to revisit. Reservations can be made through the Gangdong-gu Urban Management Corporation website.

Children can spend time at the Jongdalse Nursery Forest Experience Center. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, a professional forest instructor conducts forest experience programs for daycare and kindergarten children, while on weekends and holidays, families with young children and individuals can freely use the facility.

At an elevation of 155 meters, there is the 'Iljasan Summit Sunrise Rest Area'. It is known as the place where you can see the sunrise first in Seoul and is considered a hiking course that even children can easily climb.
