Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced on the 25th that it will provide 100,000 KRW to families of newborns celebrating their first birthday this year for first birthday photo shooting expenses. The purpose is for the local community to celebrate the baby's birth together and to support local small business owners operating photo studios.
The support targets 400 infants born last year who are registered residents and currently living in Gwangjin-gu. Priority support is given to families with multiple children (second child or later), basic livelihood security recipients, persons with disabilities, and multicultural families. Families with multiple children can receive support for each child.
Applications can be submitted from the 1st of next month to March 31st by one of the parents at the local community service center. Applicants will be individually notified of the selection results, and after submitting proof of the first birthday photo shoot, actual expenses will be reimbursed up to 100,000 KRW. This is only possible if a photo studio located in Gwangjin-gu is used, and the applicant must reside in the district until the support claim is made.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We hope families can cherish the precious moment of their baby's first birthday celebration,” and added, “We will do our best to create a nurturing environment that is good for having and raising children.”
