At the support declaration held at the Haenam County Disabled Welfare Center Multipurpose Gymnasium, attendees from Haenam, Wando, and Jindo emphasized, “Former NIS Director Park Ji-won has taken the lead in improving the treatment and protecting the rights of disabled people,” and “He must be elected as a member of the National Assembly representing the region in the April general election.”

Additionally, Cha Uk, President of the Wando County Disabled Persons Federation, said, “Wando, Haenam, and Jindo are regions facing low development, low birth rates, super-aging, and the risk of local extinction, so the regional economy and culture must develop together for opportunities for disabled people to increase,” adding, “The right person for this is candidate Park Ji-won.”

Attendees requested through a performance holding hand placards expressing their hopes and necessary disability policies for former NIS Director Park Ji-won, asking for “24-hour guarantee of mobility rights for the disabled” and “a world without prejudice and discrimination.”

Candidate Park Ji-won said, “I am touched by the sincerity of disabled people who braved the heavy snow to support me,” and added, “In an era of low birth rates and super-aging, consideration for socially vulnerable groups must increase.”

He also emphasized his determination, saying, “I will strive to ensure that the voices of local disabled people are reflected in the Democratic Party’s pledges,” and “I will continue to walk together to create a world without prejudice and discrimination against disabled people.”

Meanwhile, Kim Min-jae, President of the Jindo Branch of the Korea Disabled Persons Association, participated in the declaration in a personal capacity.
