Changwon Christian Association Donates 1,000 Bags of Rice to Changwon Special City for Low-Income Families

On the 25th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that the Changwon Christian Association donated 1,000 bags of white rice (worth 26 million KRW) to low-income families facing difficulties in the new year of Gapjin.

The rice donated on this day was collected through small contributions from the members of the Changwon Christian Association to help neighbors in need, and it will be delivered to 1,000 low-income households within Changwon city.

Shin Jin-su, president of the Changwon Christian Association, said, “Although these are difficult times for everyone, we decided to share rice with the spirit of overcoming hardships together. We hope that this rice of love will be a warm gift to neighbors in the region who are struggling through the cold winter. We wish only good things for everyone in the new year of Gapjin.”

Hong Nam-pyo, mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “I deeply thank the president of the Changwon Christian Association and its members who donate white rice every year for our neighbors in the region. We will make sure to deliver the warm hearts of the members to those in need.”

Meanwhile, the Changwon Christian Association was established in 1979 and currently consists of 182 churches. Since 2009, it has been practicing neighborly love every year through the ‘Sharing Rice of Love’ campaign.
