The First Outcome of the Public and National Property Ownership Organization Project
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that on the 25th, it held a contract signing ceremony for the mutual exchange of national and public shared properties with the Seoul Metropolitan Government at the Narakeum Yeouido Building.
This exchange is the first result of the project to organize ownership relations of national and public shared properties between the state and 17 metropolitan local governments, which has been underway according to the '2024 Comprehensive Plan for National Property' submitted to the National Assembly in August last year.

Under this contract, national properties (19 parcels, 54.5 billion KRW) occupied and used by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul city shared properties (10 parcels, 29 buildings, 54.4 billion KRW) occupied and used by the state (National Police Agency) will be exchanged, and the difference will be settled in cash.
The state (National Police Agency) will now be able to proceed with reconstruction and remodeling of aging police stations, which had been difficult due to lack of ownership. Seoul Metropolitan Government is expected to alleviate financial burdens such as national property lease fees and freely establish utilization plans for the properties according to the needs of Seoul citizens.
Based on the pilot exchange project results with Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Economy and Finance plans to specify standards and procedures for exchanging national and public shared properties and expand exchanges to other local governments starting this year.
