Galaxy S24 Pre-Sale Expected to Set New Record... "10% Increase Compared to Previous Model"

Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy S24 series' is expected to set a new pre-order sales record for Galaxy smartphones.

According to the telecommunications industry on the 24th, the domestic pre-order sales volume of the Galaxy S24, which began on the 19th of this month, increased by about 10% compared to the previous Galaxy S23 series.

If this trend continues for the remaining two days, it is expected to break the all-time pre-order sales record, surpassing last year's Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Flip5·Z Fold5.

Last year, about 1.09 million units of the Galaxy S23 were sold in the Korean market during the one-week pre-order period, which is the highest average daily pre-order sales volume for Galaxy smartphones to date.

The foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5 also sold 1.02 million units in one week.

In terms of sales volume, the Galaxy Note10 recorded 1.38 million units in 2019, but the pre-order sales period at that time was 11 days. Since the Galaxy Note20 series launched in the second half of 2020, Samsung Electronics has set the pre-order sales period to 7 to 8 days.

The flagship model Galaxy S24 Ultra accounted for nearly 60% of total sales, and in terms of color, gray and black were popular across all models.

Users' interest is also focused on the experience spaces prepared by the three major telecom companies.

SK Telecom announced that visitors to the Galaxy S24 experience space at T Factory in Mapo-gu, Seoul increased by about 42% compared to the previous week. KT also introduced that on the first day of operating the experience space at Hongdae Ad Shop Plus on December 19 last year, visitors doubled compared to the December average.

LG Uplus did not disclose figures, but a company official said, "Inquiries are flooding in at the pre-order consultation desk on the basement first floor of Ilsangbi Ilsang-ui Teum (Teum)."

The Galaxy S24 is also showing signs of success in overseas markets, setting a new sales record in the Indian market just three days after pre-orders began.

Galaxy S24 pre-order sales will continue until the 25th, with activation starting on the 26th. The official global release date is the 31st. The prices start from 1,155,000 KRW for the base model, 1,353,000 KRW for the Plus model, and 1,698,400 KRW for the Ultra model.
