Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is implementing a comprehensive plan to stabilize residents' lives in various sectors, including price stabilization and emergency medical care, ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Additionally, a comprehensive situation room will be operated from the first to the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 24th, Nam-gu announced, "We are implementing a comprehensive plan consisting of 35 tasks across three major sectors to ensure a healthy and safe Lunar New Year for local residents and visitors," adding, "We will work to prevent various accidents and provide convenience to visitors so that everyone can have a warm holiday."
The comprehensive Lunar New Year plan consists of 35 tasks in three major sectors: 23 tasks for stabilizing residents' lives, 6 tasks for price stabilization, and 6 tasks for emergency medical care and prevention of infectious diseases and food poisoning.
First, from February 9 to 12, during the Lunar New Year holiday, Nam-gu will operate a control tower?the comprehensive situation room?with situation teams for overall management, disaster countermeasures, cleaning and environment, traffic, and medical care to prevent various disasters and safety accidents.
In addition, to support marginalized neighbors, a 3-24H check-in system will be operated along with mobile safety care, meal delivery, and meal support services. Energy fuel supply businesses such as city gas and LP gas will be designated and managed.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, special duty will be assigned to sanitation workers to collect illegal dumping trash and household waste along major roads, and a thorough cleanup of illegal street vendors and advertisements will be conducted.
For price stabilization, price trend management of 32 essential items will be carried out, along with guidance and crackdowns on unfair trade practices.
Furthermore, efforts will be made to resolve illegal subcontracting and unpaid wages in public construction projects to ensure workers have a warm holiday, and construction payments will be made before the Lunar New Year through early execution.
Alongside this, rural health clinics, on-duty medical institutions, and duty pharmacies will operate during the holiday period to maintain a seamless medical and quarantine system and provide emergency medical care. Full efforts will also be made to prevent infectious diseases and food poisoning through various disinfection and quarantine measures.
A Nam-gu official stated, "We will meticulously implement the comprehensive plan so that all 220,000 residents and hometown visitors can have a rich and happy Lunar New Year holiday."
