Geochang-gun Appoints Singer Na Sang-do as Public Relations Ambassador

Expected to Enhance Geochang-gun's Status and Cultural Value as an Ambassador

On the 23rd, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province held the “Singer Na Sang-do Geochang-gun Ambassador Appointment Ceremony” in the large conference room of the county office, attended by about 180 people including Gu In-mo, the governor of Geochang-gun, residents, and fan clubs.

The relationship between singer Na Sang-do and Geochang-gun dates back to 2019, when he was beginning to gain recognition. It started when he filmed a segment with the elders of Galji Village in Geochang-eup, Dongho Village in Ungyang-myeon, and Byeonggok Village in Buksang-myeon for the KNN live broadcast program Today’s “Na Sang-do’s Exciting SOS.”

Since then, after achieving an excellent result as a TOP4 contestant in Mister Trot Season 2 and actively developing his career, he appeared as the invited singer at the 2023 Geochang Hanmadang Grand Festival. He stated, “I kept my promise to succeed with the elders of the three villages,” expressing his strong desire to meet them again, which became the occasion for his appointment as Geochang-gun’s ambassador.

At the appointment ceremony, residents of Galji, Dongho, and Byeonggok villages, along with the “Sangdo Baragi” fan club, watched a video titled “The Path Na Sang-do Walked and Geochang.” The event proceeded with the presentation of the appointment plaque and a donation of hometown love funds to Geochang-gun.

In particular, the “Sangdo Baragi” fan club donated 5 million won in hometown love funds to Geochang-gun in the name of singer Na Sang-do, adding warmth to the event. Additionally, singer Na Sang-do became the 30,000th digital tourism resident of Geochang-gun, contributing to tourism promotion.

Singer Na said, “When I first came to Geochang-gun, I felt as warm as if I were in my hometown, and the connection I thought was brief has continued, leading to my appointment as an ambassador. I am happy and will do my best to promote the excellence of Geochang as an ambassador.”

Governor Gu In-mo said, “Thanks to the good relationship with singer Na Sang-do, we were able to appoint him as an ambassador. I ask that you promote our county’s status, local culture and arts, tourist attractions, and Geochang’s agricultural specialties extensively. I hope you continue to thrive as a wonderful entertainer in Korea and become a great partner with Geochang-gun.”

Meanwhile, singer Na Sang-do, known as the “Trot Smile Angel,” is actively participating in many broadcasting programs, events, and festivals. He is expected to play a significant role in promoting Geochang-gun’s administration, revitalizing cultural tourism, and publicizing local specialties with his warm and positive image loved by people of all ages.
