Jung Young-hwan, the People Power Party's Nomination Management Committee Chairman, said on the 23rd, "We will break away from outdated practices such as lining up nominations and factional nominations through a system nomination."

Chairman Jung made this remark during the 2nd Nomination Committee meeting held at the Yeouido party headquarters in the afternoon, stating, "There are many concerns about personal nominations such as private recommendations (sacheon)."

Earlier, controversy over 'sacheon' arose when Han Dong-hoon, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman, announced Kim Kyung-yul's candidacy for Mapo-eul, Seoul.

Chairman Jung said, "A deeply rooted tree does not shake in a storm," adding, "I believe that nominations based on clear principles and standards guarantee victory." He explained that they aim to achieve election victory through system nominations.

He continued, "The Nomination Committee believes that the best nomination is the best election campaign, and everyone carries a heavy sense of responsibility," adding, "We look only to the people and will present candidates that the people can choose."

Meanwhile, the Nomination Committee will discuss the strategic nomination criteria for the April 10 general election during the meeting. Through the meeting, they plan to establish standards for primary elections and single-candidate recommendations, priority recommendation areas, and candidate selection criteria.
