Hwaseong-si Rolls Up Sleeves to Foster 'Social Economy Enterprises'

Providing Startup Spaces, Business Development Funds, and Mentoring
Supporting the Establishment of 50 Companies Since 2014

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province has rolled up its sleeves to foster social economy enterprises.


On the 23rd, Hwaseong City announced that it will promote the '2024 Social Economy Enterprise Startup Support Project' organized by the 'Hwaseong City Social Economy Support Center.'

This project is designed to provide close support at each stage from startup to independence, enabling teams with social values to concretely realize their business items and strengthen their business capabilities.


The support includes ▲startup space (support for startup incubation rooms within the center) ▲business development expenses (up to 10 million KRW per team) ▲startup and management consulting through expert mentoring ▲startup education programs ▲resource linkage and follow-up support (center education, consulting, etc.).


Eligibility for support includes individual or corporate business operators or non-profit organizations with their main office located in the jurisdiction, who are either not yet established as of the recruitment announcement date or have been established for less than three years.


After screening, if selected as a support target, the team must be composed of three or more members including the representative before signing the support project agreement, and must convert to or establish a social economy enterprise within Hwaseong City during the agreement period.


Applications for support can be submitted in person to the Hwaseong City Social Economy Support Center by 6 p.m. on the 8th of next month. For more details, please visit the Hwaseong City Social Economy Support Center website or contact the center directly.


Lee Young-hye, head of the Social Economy Division of Hwaseong City, said, "We will focus on supporting those who can practice social values to build business models and foster sustainable and solid social economy enterprises."


Meanwhile, Hwaseong City has been fostering social economy enterprises since 2014 and has supported the startup of a total of 50 teams to date.
